                Runtime Error in Visual Basic IDE

The information in this article applies to:

CCRP FolderTreeview Control Beta 1 build 0.01.0061 running on all version of Windows.

Symptom

During development with the FolderTreeview added to a form, a runtime error is generated, and the FolderTreeview's properties disappear from the Properties window.

Cause

Conflicts between two or more ccrpftv.oca files on the system.

Solution

Search the system for the file 'ccrppftv.oca' and delete all copies. Start VB, then from the Browse window in the Components dialog, locate the ccrpftv.ocx file on your system, select it and press Open. This will regenerate a new required ccrpftv.oca file in the same folder as the ccrpftv.ocx.

Status

This error occurs because of conflicts between the supplied oca file in the ccrpftv.zip, and the one created by Visual Basic. This type of conflict is not limited to the FolderTreeview control, and could occur with any control on a system with duplicate oca files.
