Bug: ProgressBar FillColor does not work with comctl32.dll v4.71.1008.3

Symptom

When setting the FillColor property, no change in the bar color occurs.

Cause

It appears that this is a bug in comctl32.dll v4.71.1008.3 (this is the only version that the problem has been found in so far). The MS documentation states that the functionality to change the back color and fill color requires v4.71 of comctl32.dll. Whilst the back color can be changed in this version of comctl32.dll, the fill color cannot be changed.

Workaround

Install v4.72 of comctl32.dll and distribute this version to your users to ensure that this feature will work correctly. You can download this update from Microsoft.

Status

Since the problem is in comctl32.dll, the only way to avoid this problem is to install the latest version of comctl32.dll.
